This is one of my favourite spots on the Grand River near Inverhaugh. Here on the flats known as Wilson Flats below Pilkington Outlook the river divides and converges as it meanders across this floodplain. The grasses and wild flowers grow abundantly but a track worn through the tall weeds by individuals driving there vehicles over its unpredictable surface led to where two parts of the Grand converged. It was a beautiful spot to have a picnic and just enjoy the quiet and of course the sounds of the river flowing past, it's song. It is still and has been from before my days as an artist a place that brings calm to my heart in times when I have experienced tumultuous personal change. On a warm summer day or standing here in the morning , a mist shrouding the landscape while the sun floated just above the horizon  ready to greet a new day, it is a beautiful place.
