Those deepest of summer blue skies that as a kid you would lay on your back with your buddies by your side, gazing upward. Looking for different fantastic shapes in the clouds. There can you see them, the turkey vultures circling high on the thermals, wings spread, no motion, just moving with the warm air currents. Marvelous and as you lay there the smell of alfalfa, spring wheat, clover and then the call of an unseen hawk, that high pitched cry to another. The tantalizing drift of warm air across your uplift faces that right here, right now, everything is right in your world. The idyll of calm, so earnestly sought as an adult.
