"Georgian Gate" figuratively for this artist refers to the gateway that we pass through as we move from urban swelter to the less frantic, calm of its cold refreshing waters, exploring a myriad of rock islands that accentuate its shores to the north east and west. Places of contemplation in wooden cottage vaults or camped solo or in groups along its shorelines. This is "Hole In The Wall Provincial Park" formed by two crescent shaped masses of rock that lay just out from Pointe Aux Baril. If you didn't know where it was you would miss what is only accessible by boat, a shard of sandy beach surrounded by towering pines and hard edged masses of fractured granite that are piled on top of each other like childrens building blocks. It is a place that encapsulates you and shuts the world out.
