Brocsh now grown to manhood has almost forgotton his father but feels the tug of the energetic link to him anew. He had given up hope of ever seeing his father again. It is Brocsh’s daughter Taathe in her journey to find Paawke who is still being held captive that may change all that. Her quest brings her into contact with those that hold the key to his wherabouts. Taathe while searching for him, is pursued by a secret religious faction within the Kasidian order. This clandestine religious group is determined to exterminate the Fateth healers of which Taathe is one and return the order to its seat of power in Ecrosia. It is this betrayal by her own people that broadens her understanding of her connectiveness to the earth. She must rely on this understanding and the language of the ancient Haaraack to save herself when she is captured by the Kasidians and bound atop a burning pyre with the flames meant to eradicate her leaping inward. “Taathe caught the movement in the deep shadows of the fregans. A singular, shimmering strand like a thread wafting along on a breeze. She was mesmerized by it as it floated lazily through the air towards her. Then there were three, seven, twenty and then like a mist they came. Thousands of thralls descending towards her. The morning sun became a dazzling sparkling multi faceted cascade of light as thousands of the thin gossamer strands of the thralls slipped silently through the still air. Strand after strand moved through the rising hot air of the pyre meant to eradicate this Fateth. They wrapped themselves around her. Taathe was encased by them and a chrysalis was formed, impenetrable to the heat of the flames. As the flames rose higher there was a sudden blinding light and when it subsided the fire was out, the thralls were ascending on the updraft of the spent fire and she was simply................ gone.”
