Fat Bottom Girls

Fat Bottom Girls Chorus, oil on gessoed 350 pound weight Fabriano watercolour paper, 13 x 40 inches

I have painted pears too many times to remember in various fashions. I love the shape of a pear and there variability of colour from unripe greens, soft pastel yellows to sharp ripe reds and brashy yellows. Even the fragrance of ripe pears sealed in a plastic bag and breathed in are wonderful. The title Fat Bottom Girls Chorus and several other of my pear paintings take their title from the Queen song, "Fat Bottom Girls." The individuals who purchased many of the pear paintings have been women and it has been the title "Fat Bottom Girls " that attracted them to the work.
